Our Story
Welcome to Modaheadwraps.
We are a woman-owned, woman-inspired company built on something simple and deeply personal: the belief that culture should be effortless to wear.

The name “MODA” comes from “mother.” It honors my own mother—her warmth, her boldness, her love for radiant colors, and her belief that all women are sisters. She lived her life that way. She lifted people. She made beauty feel accessible.

Madam M. Odusolu
In the fall of 2020, three Black women—unknown to one another, in three different locations—stopped me to compliment my headwrap. Each one said the same thing: “I wish I could wear mine like that… but I can’t ever get it right.”
They wanted the elegance and cultural pride, but the reality was frustrating: headwraps that took forever to tie, tutorials that didn’t help, and styles that never stayed put.
They weren’t just talking about fabric. They were talking about identity—how exhausting it felt to love their heritage but struggle with headwraps built for aesthetics, not real life.
This is why I created Modaheadwraps: a luxury yet practical headwrap brand designed to bring culture back into daily life without the learning curve. Our signature No-Tie, two-piece wraps can be worn in under one minute. No experience needed. No fuss. No frustration.
Every print we use is intentional. Each one represents an African nation or region—like our best-selling Samakaka from Angola or the classic Kente rooted in the ancient Ashanti Kingdom of Ghana. These wraps don’t just accessorize. They tell stories. They carry lineage.

Today, women across the U.S. and around the world wear our wraps to work, to worship, through chemotherapy journeys, on campus, and in everyday life. The messages, the photos, the joy—they matter. They remind me why I keep building: because something as simple as a headwrap can restore confidence, connection, and color in a world that often dulls all three.

But Modaheadwraps isn’t only about the women wearing our products. It’s also about the women who craft them.
Our wraps are sewn by independent Nigerian seamstresses—skilled entrepreneurs in their own right. We pay fair-trade pricing, honoring their expertise and supporting their businesses, not exploiting their labor. Right now, three seamstresses sustain our production and we sustain their growth. Our goal is to increase that number as our community expands.
When you choose a Modaheadwrap, you don’t just choose convenience and style.
You choose impact.
You choose heritage.
You choose to uplift a woman halfway across the world while uplifting yourself.
Thank you for being part of this story.
